Oat Bakery is a Scandinavian-owned gem with three locations around Santa Barbara: downtown SB, Old Town Goleta, and Montecito inside the Montecito Country Mart. Personally, I’m partial to the Goleta location since it offers a small breakfast and lunch menu My go-tos are the Spring Greens Sandwich, Trout Toast, and the Farmer’s Market Frittata, which always feels fresh and seasonal. I’m also mildly obsessed with their Olive Rosemary Focaccia and the jalapeño basil cashew spread. Honestly, I’d put that spread on just about anything. Service is counter style with friendly staff, and there’s a beautiful glass case showcasing the day’s dishes and fresh breads. I love a good visual moment when deciding what to order, and this place definitely delivers. Just note that popular items can sell out, so going earlier is better. Their bread menu changes depending on the season and produce availability, which keeps things interesting. You’ll also find gluten-free options, sweets, and dry goods if you want to take a little something home. The patio is cute and sun-filled, perfect for lingering with coffee and a pastry. Parking is street parking only, but on weekdays there’s usually ample ne

Great spot! Great food and super service. The owner and his wife are really nice. I had their granola and yogurt bowl, my husband had the Prosciutto and cheese sandwich. Both were delicious. We would definitely return. Highly recommend!

Best bakery we have ever been to. You can tell it's fueled by love and pride. Had the cheese stick bread and the bean salad. Coffee was excellent too. People were nice and the little circular loaves were so tasty. Will be back again.

So happy they’ve opened in Goleta! Highly recommend the rosemary olive focaccia :) We’ve tried several of their breads and pastries, they are all delicious! I also appreciate their veggie sandwich — perhaps the greenest and most flavorful veggie sandwich I’ve ever had.

We're regulars of Oat Bakery downtown but decided to go check out the Goleta location today and grab some bread and maybe a little lunch. At 2pm they were out of most of their prepared menu, but we were still able to get a Danish Breakfast sandwich and a Fava Bean Toast. So delicious, and perfect portions. We also tried a Lime & Salt Ghia Spritzer. Unexpected find! Service was great. Nice little outdoor patio that had some shade, where we could sit with our dog. And we found plenty of parking in the lot next to AutoZone.
